MP Abed Bwanika Reveals The Shocking Names Which Make Up NUP’s NEC

The MP for Kimanya Kabonera in Masaka City Hon Abed Bwanika has revealed the shocking names of people that make up the National Unity Platform’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

Bwanika said that as party members, they had never seen the NEC but one time got a chance to meet them and he was left shocked.

Among the names he mentioned is Bobi Wine who is the party president, singer Nubian Li, the party secretary general, David Lewis Rubongoya, Chairman Nyanzi who is Bobi Wine’s elder brother, Barbie Kyagulanyi and media personality, Mr Mosh.

As MPs, they were shocked because these are the people who make all the key decisions in the party hierarchy.

As MPs of the party, they don’t have any key place or organ in the party where they belong. Therefore, they have to heed to whatever decision this group makes. In fact, it’s believed that these are some of the people who sat and sacked Hon Mathias Mpuuga.

“I had never gotten the opportunity to meet the party’s National Executive Committee. But one day we were called to a meeting in Ndejje and I got to meet some of them. Me and my fellow MPs were left shocked because of the people we saw. They included the likes of Bobi Wine himself, Chairman Nyanzi, Mr Mosh, Eddi Mutwe, Barbie Kyagulanyi, Nubian Li. These are the people who decide for the party and in fact are the ones who made the decision on Hon Mathias Mpuuga. As MPs, we don’t have any organ that binds us in the party,” he said.

Bwanika also said that he wasn’t born in NUP. Besides, the Constitution of Uganda gives him the right to freely associate. If he ever feels that he’s run his race in the party, he will gladly quit.
