The mess at MTN Uganda has seen various top executives including the company’s CEO, Mr Wim Vanhellputte arrested and deported to their native countries respectively over allegations of inciting violence by funding the popular musician and Kyadondo MP, Hon Robert Kyagulanyi.
Through his legal practitioners, Kampala Associated Advocates (KAA), Mr Charles Mbire disregarded claims published in the Saturday Vision ‘’’Fake News’’ and described the write-up claiming that he was interrogated by security was written in an intent to deceive.
According to part of the statement from Kampala Associated Advocates, Mr Mbire was not interrogated by any security agencies as it was reported by the government newspaper dated 16th February 2019, as someone who obeys the law, the MTN chairman is always available to assist security agencies to do their job appropriately in the country, according Daily Monitor.
