The Commander of the Defense Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has sent out a warning to anyone that will doubt his presidency once he assumes power. According to him, such people will find it difficult.
Despite his current position not allowing him to engage in partisan politics, the first son seems to have ignored all the codes of conduct of the Army to pursue his interests.
For a couple of years now, Muhoozi has made it clear that he is about to assume the country’s highest office.
This is currently occupied by his father, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. The army officer dreams about inheriting the office to keep the ruling dynasty running in the family.
It’s not clear how Muhoozi expects to assume office, whether by the ballot or gun. One thing that is clear though is that he has his sights set on State House. And he has already started brandishing warnings to anyone that might cast doubt about his presidency.
“When I become President of this beautiful country, anyone who doubts it will be in trouble,” he tweeted.
Well, those who might oppose him might have an assumption about what his rule will deliver. And hopefully, learn to behave before the General takes office.
The first son already has the backing of the Patriotic League OF Uganda that has a couple of elites backing him to take over from his father.
This group considers itself a civic organization that fights for the sanitization of Ugandan leadership. However, most of its members have close allies or are even members of the ruling NRM party led by Muhoozi’s father, Mr. Museveni.
