He made these comments while appearing on the NBS TV show “Barometer.”
Nsereko attributed this to the replacement of the prime Minister who was a doctor Hon Ruhakana Rugunda for someone who is not Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja.
“France voted for Macro and Uganda voted Museveni. Our Deputy CEO is Nabbanja.
You remove a doctor as Prime Minister as you replace him with Nabbanja in a pandemic. I don’t blame Nabbanja.” Hon Muhammad Nsereko said.
Nsereko further added that it was high time people in rural areas also felt the pressure of these financial times.
This is because it’s mostly rural areas that voted the government back to power. Nsereko feels it’s time they reaped what they sowed.
The MP also said that the country is in shambles due to the dysfunctional state of the different organs.
Nsereko attributes this to the fact that there is a ministry of children but children are all over different city centres.
He added that even at times the presidential convoy bypasses them, they still do nothing.
The legislator also went ahead to take swipe at the proposed COVID-19 relief funds.
Government was supposed to start rolling out the funds to the vulnerable poor on Monday. However, they came out to say that statistical data is still holding them back.
Nsereko said that the government is collecting the data of the vulnerable on the Abacus system yet the world moved on already to Excel.
Mukono municipality MP Betty Nambooze was also in the studios too. She further echoed Nsereko’s sentiments.
She said that it was wrong for the government to exclude politicians especially MPs from this exercise.
This is because they have the structures and data right from the elections.
