This measure is going to go on for 21 days including curfew from 6AM to 7PM.
“Movements from Mubende to Kasanda and vice versa are prohibited. There will be a curfew in Mubende and Kasanda districts starting from 7 PM up to 6 AM.”
“Ebola, as of now, is highly infectious and deadly. It greatly affects the economy and tourism industry. If not adequately controlled, Ebola might spread past Uganda. This sickness is a bad disease (Ebola) once it gets into your body, but it is actually very easy to avoid. It could have been confined. It doesn’t spread very much because it goes through intimate body contact,” he added.
However, the president said Ebola is very easy to handle and survivable. He says 20 people have so far healed from Ebola. The country has registered 58 cases over all and 19 deaths.
Due to this the president has so far made three national addresses. The most consistent plea the president has made, is for people to be vigilant and visit hospitals if anything happens.
Regarding Mubende and Kasanda though, he says vehicles will be allowed to move with police clearance.
“Transit vehicles and public and private crossings through Kasanda and Mubende districts are permitted to move but with police clearance and shall not stop to pick up or drop off people,” Museveni said.
