Former ISO operative and now political analyst Charles Rwomushana has said he believes there is a plot that he thinks President Museveni will use to appoint his son, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba the president of Uganda.
It should be noted that Muhoozi has been garnering a lot of criticism over his political traversing of the country. He does this despite being a serving army officer.
According to Rwomushana, Museveni has the final say in the country. And when he makes a decision, it can’t be contested. He pointed out that the President has previously appointed the likes of Jessica Alupo and Gen Edward Katumba Wamala.
All these were active military officers. Rwomushana, therefore, believes that Museveni has the ability to appoint his son the vice president.
With this done, the NRM leader could choose to retire. This would therefore leave the country in Muhoozi’s arms thus ascending to the presidency.
“President Museveni holds the final say. We have witnessed the appointment of military personnel like Alupo and Katumba before their retirement. Museveni could potentially appoint Muhoozi as Vice President and retire, making Muhoozi the President.”
Furthermore, the political analyst added that Muhoozi being called a standby generator has more to it. This means that he’s prepared to step in in case of unforeseen circumstances.
The fact that President Museveni has not brought anyone closer to his succession other than his son now should say a lot.
Furthermore, Rwomushana added that the Muhoozi project is a reality and it’s one that belongs to the President. This is because he’s the one who has the final say.
