Singer Eddy Kenzo has come out to reveal the reason why his international career is no longer booming as it used to a couple of years ago. The singer came out to reveal why he halted it.
According to Kenzo, he just wanted to clear the mess at home first.
The Big Talent boss said that the local industry needs to be streamlined for everyone to thrive. And once this is done, then everyone in the industry will earn from it including himself.
The singer said that he knows how to up his international game. Therefore, people shouldn’t think that it just faded all of a sudden.
Kenzo said that he’s been there and therefore knows how to do it. However, he can’t if the local industry is still disorganized. This is what is holding him back.
“I intentionally paused my international business because there was a lot I had to first put right back home. I know when and how to rock the international market because I’ve done it for many years. But, things have to be good at home for you to enjoy the international market,” he said.
The Semyekozo singer is without a doubt Uganda’s most successful local singer overseas. He has won some of the most prestigious awards such as the BET.
He’s also been nominated for other big awards such as the Grammy. Kenzo has also performed in countries across the globe and collaborated with top singers internationally.
However, for the past couple of months, he’s been invested in the UNMF where he is the president.
The singer alongside other top musicians are fighting so hard to have the copyright law enacted and enforced. They believe that this is what is holding them back from earning from their craft.
