The Nteredde singer said that the key ingredient in music is passion. Short of this, and the artiste is bound to fail because they have nothing to keep them motivated.
She added that there are a lot of difficulties in the music industry that can make one collapse at any time.
“If you’re not passionate in this music industry, then you’re deemed to fail. There are lots of adversities in this industry that’ll hit you off,” singer Naava Grey said.
She went ahead to give an example of singer Maurice Kirya who stuck by his music genre. Kirya was one of the earliest artistes in the early 2000’s. He however didn’t get famous overnight yet the people he started with got popular soon.
Kirya was even advised to drop his music genre for something suitable for the local market. He however stuck by his style and he’s now one of the most successful singers locally and internationally.
“Maurice Kirya stuck to his music genre till the people understood it. This music industry needs someone who is dedicated and persistent,” Naava Grey added.
Despite being arguably one of the most talented singers and vocalists, Naava has failed to establish herself as one of the formidable artistes locally.
Whenever she spits on the microphone, the song becomes a hit. However, she leaves it to run for longer because she just doesn’t out music.
