While commenting about Tems’ recent Grammy award win, Nabbi Omukazi revealed that they shared a prison cell. It Not just that but also the same mattress in Kigo prison.
The two ladies connected a lot since they were both writers, guitarists and producers. Besides, they even promised to sing together once they came out.
Tems however came out before Nabbi Omukazi and she left everything she had in jail to the Ugandan singer.
The former wife to Pastor Yiga is therefore glad that Tems won a Grammy and made history. She’s even confident that they will reunite soon again with Tems. Both ladies promised to tattoo their prison numbers on themselves.
“We shared the same cell and same mattress in Kigo women’s prison. We connected as we were both writers, producers and guitarists. And we promised to sing together when we get out, she came out first and left me with her mattress and other stuff she had in prison. I’m so happy and proud to see her win a Grammy and making history and I know we will reunite soon coz we even promised to tattoo our prison numbers on our arms,” said Nabbi Omukazi.
It should be recalled that Tems was arrested in Uganda in 2020 alongside fellow Nigerian, singer Omah Lay.
This is after the pair were hired to perform in Uganda amidst a ban on entertainment centers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The duo were however later released but since then, Tems has always recounted the incident with fury.
Nabbi Omukazi on the other hand was jailed for aiding fraud. She recently got out and flew to the US where she currently resides.
