Civil society activist, Hajjati Nambi Faridah has declared her intention to stand for woman member of parliament for Kampala under in the forth coming 2021 general elections.
Nambi an advocate for women’s rights is meeting opposition politicians around Kampala namely Bobwine, Nobert Mao, President Yoweri Museveni and Besigyeas sign of unity to deliver service and support for her political ambitions.
The NRM flag bearer who owns Uganda Muslim women organization and crisis resolution training centre has been in civil society fraternity for the last 15 years providing psychosocial support to the vulnerable women and schools fees to the orphans in Makindye Division.
She pledges to use her political position to legislate for better laws that will favor women and bring justice to families and social protection for youth and women in Kampala.
“Am offering myself to serve the public as woman member of parliament and uplift the status of women ad youth to better service provision. For the last 15 years politicians have neglected service provision but only talks politics yet the population demands services other than politics,”Nambi noted.
Plans for Mrs Nambi
Nambi plans to set up vocational skills training centre during her term of office to enhance practical skills training for the youth and women so that they can start their own jobs for instance tailoring,salon, moto vehicle, carpentry and soap making .
She further plans to mentor women in Kampala to address gender based violence so that there is harmony ad peace in families to reduce single motherhood.
Nambi also plans to lobby government during her term to extend youth livelihood programmes to slum dwellers so that they start income generating projects to better their standard of living.
