The media house thanked the two for the immense and positive contribution to the station. They then proceeded to wish them all the best in her next steps. The NBS after 5 social media also posted to wish Gashumba all the best.
“Sheilah Gashumba, Thank you for all your fantastic insights on ‘After 5’. Your contributions have been invaluable. And having you on our team has been an absolute pleasure. Best of luck in your future endeavors,” the station announced via their Twitter page.
It should be recalled that Sheilah has spent about 15 months working on this program. This is after she joined the station in November 2021 and her employment sparked a social media war between her and former NTV presenter, Robin Kisti.
Kisti actually thought they would hire her but they took her nemesis, Sheilah instead.
Meanwhile she’s been co-presenting the entertainment program alongside Douglas Lwanga, MC Kats, DJ Roja and DJ Mercy.
The socialite recently landed a radio job on NRG FM. Besides, she also opened up a fashion store dubbed Gash Luxe.
On top of that, she manages the music career of her boyfriend, singer Rickman. Gashumba also has several endorsement deals and is into organizing parties.
This seems like a lot on her plate and she’s probably trying to free up some room for herself. And dropping the NBS After 5 program could have been the way forward. She last year took a break from work and went to Zanzibar alone for a vacation.
For now it’s not yet clear whether NBS After 5 will hire a new presenter, more of a female to fill Sheilah’s void.
Meanwhile, Sheilah Salta, the NBS Katch-Up show host also apparently joined NRG radio. Along with Sheilah Gashumba, it seems NBS TV just couldn’t keep them.
A few months ago, Next Media announced a lay off of over 30 employees. Perhaps some of the people who were cut off were these two as well and were given till Feb to leave the station.
Either way, we’re yet to hear from the TV hosts.
