TikTok in Uganda is popular among the younger generation. The young use it mostly to view short videos, record and share their own. And others use it to make money by creating their own content. They have become brand ambassadors and influencers.
However that doesn’t take away the fact that some Ugandans misuse TikTok. They abuse each other, abuse other people on the app seeking for popularity.
TikTok has also become a home for releasing nudity by different young people in order to become popular. Because they know once they do that, they will gain more following.
According to Nobert Events, Alien Skin is a good example why the app should be banned. He rose to fame through that app and he has tortured his other fellow musician Pallaso through the same app.
He said the singer paid other fellow TikTok users to abuse Pallaso. This is something he sees as very unprofessional and annoying.
Nobert Events revealed that if the app can’t be banned let Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) atleast regulate it because many people are suffering with depression because of it.
“I want the government of Uganda to ban the TikTok app here in Uganda. It has done more harm than good. If they can’t ban it, atleast let Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) regulate it,” Nobert Events said.
