Joel Ssenyonyi Reveals Why NUP Is Silent About Nobert Mao's Attacks

Nobert Mao And NUP In Bitter Sexual War

The president of the Democrat Party (DP) Nobert Mao and the Kamwokya-based party the National Unity Platform (NUP) have become entangled in a sexual war.

This is after Mao launched a full-scale virtual attack on NUP a number of weeks ago. The party and its affiliates have also refused to keep mute about him. Each party is therefore trying to dig out each other’s dirt in order to come out on top.

The NUP section has always accused Mao of sexual immorality. This is after a one Martin Kayanja in the UK accused the DP president of destabilizing his marriage.

While filing for divorce from his wife, Beatrice Kayanja, Mr Martin said that Mao used to call his wife deep in the night. He also said that she used to call herself his research assistant but this was a coverup of their extramarital affair.

This is something Mao has always been accused of. The DP president however did some digging and landed on an article written by local blog Whispereye.

This article wrote about a tale of a certain young lady who had been sexually harassed at NUP headquarters in Kamwokya.

According to this article, the victim said that sexual harassment was pulling People Power down. She advised the men there to zip up their pants.

However, the said victim Angella Namirembe came out to deny this news through a Twitter account. She in fact said that she has never done an interview with the Whispereye. The magazine was rather fighting battles unknown to her using her name.

Mao didn’t seem ready to back down and went ahead to claim his source is authentic.

“My source is authentic because he sat down and recorded an interview. Fear should not make us fear speaking the truth! My campaign against sex pests is why I stood with #SamanthaMwesigye. There are other victims in the “sex for tickets” saga. Below is a bit of what was published.”

According to what was published by Whispereye, Namirembe was faced with threats from People Power, especially by Bobi Wine. This was due to the sexual harassment allegations.

The article was written 2 years ago before the General elections. Namirembe by then was a National Youth Coordinator of People Power in Buganda Region.
