Nobert Mao Mocks NUP After Party Fires Various Leaders In Busoga Region

DP president and the minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hon Nobert Mao, has mocked NUP after it fired part of it’s leaders in Busoga region.

A letter signed by the party president, Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu yesterday suspended about 4 leaders. This was apparently over misconduct. According to a letter signed by the party secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya, there have been lots of divisions and in-fighting among them.

The suspended are Bigirwa Moses, secretary for Mobilization Eastern region, Muwanguzi Andrew -Ag. Head, Patriotism and Ideology. Bamu Lulenzi – Ag. Coordinator Youth, Busoga subregion and Nsongambi Saulo- Ag District Chairperson, Jinja City.

According to the letter, these divisions have greatly damaged the party’s reputation. It has also threatened the cohesion of those affiliated to the party. Bobi Wine also further instituted a committee to investigate the behavior of these members and devise a way forward.

This was food for the soul for Nobert Mao, a long term critic of the party.

Mao said that he at one time warned that when you steal firewood from another, you risk taking the bad ones. This firewood might also be full of red ants which might attack and destroy your best firewood.

“In 2020, I warned that when you steal firewood from another, you risk getting bad firewood. Some of which may be full of red ants that can get into your garments and attack your unmentionables! Ouch ouch . It is a voluntary assumption of risk! Lawyers say ‘volenti non fit injuria’.”

A number of NUP associates are seemingly starting to grow fatigued with the party. Some of the keyboard warriors who used to defend the party are now the ones questioning it.

There is continued rumors that the top hierarchy has fallen out especially over the Leader of Opposition spot. Rumors have it that Kyagulanyi is not contented with Mathias Mpuuga and wants to replace him with Francis Zaake.
