None Of The Contestants For UMA Leadership Knows Music Industry – Sheilah Gashumba

City socialite, Sheilah Gashumba has come out to say none of the contestants for the Uganda Musicians Association, UMA, leadership knows a thing about the music industry.

She says if it were up to her, none of them deserves a spot on the leadership of UMA board.

“I personally think no one is competent to be the President of the Ugandan Music Association on this list. Anyways it’s just my opinion!! You don’t need to be an artist to be the President of the musician association! Musicians won’t have managers or be under record labels if they knew how to manage themselves or if they were well vase with the Music Business. No one on the list knows even 5% of the Music business,” Gashumba added.

According to her, the outgoing regime has literally done nothing for the musicians. Unfortunately, some of them like Cindy have shown interest in coming back.

“Aside from that, what has the last regime of UMA done for the musicians? Both locally and putting artists on a global scale!! I doubt any of the past regime or the ones contesting has atleast 5 big global contacts in the music business or music industry in AFRIca or the world!”

However, some journalists said Sheilah doesn’t know what she is talking about. Unlike what she is suggesting, UMA is not centered around marketing.

“You are literally suggesting that the association’s role should be marketing. 😂 Have you taken time to understand UMA objective. We can’t say they have totally done nothing and above all let’s prescribe solutions 👌,” Gabriel Buule, Journalist at NBS told her.

The presidential seat for UMA has three Contestants who include, Cindy Sanyu, King Saha and Mutebi Ramathan.
