North Korea Seriously In Car Production Business

Am sure many of us didn’t know that North Korea makes cars, it may sound strange, but it is true it makes cars through its company known as Pyeonghwa Motors corporation located on the country’s west coast sea port called Nampo.

Pyeonghwa Motors Corporation has been in existence since the 1999 partnering with South Korea’s Unification Church and North Korea’s Ryonbong General Corporation.

The company manufactures car like Cuckoo, Land of Korea etc which are similar to Toyota camry, VW rip-offs and Kia.

Many of these cars where built with fewer horse-power which produces around only 80 compaired to Toyota Camry, one of the best selling cars in the US which produces approximately 170 horses, this implies that those that are made in North Korea have weak engines.

A brand new car made in North Korea is available at the cost of $10,000 to $30,000, however, Pyeonghwa Motor Corporation is a small scale car marker that produces small sized vehicles less than 1,500 cars per year and of which many are taken to another country for final assembly.

Despite being in poverty, North Koreans love their country and everything that’s manufactured within, many of them desire to own one of Pyeonghwa cars.
