H on Obua Denis Hamson, the Government Chief Whip has announced the postponement of the NRM Parliamentary Caucus meeting. He said that the meeting that was scheduled for today, Wednesday 29, March has been postponed to tomorrow.
Obua said in a communication dated March 28th, 2023 that unavoidable circumstances have delayed the meeting. He, therefore, said the dates had to be changed hence pushing it to tomorrow.
Regardless though, he informed the NRM Parliamentary Caucus Members that the meeting venue has been maintained. It will therefore take place at the Conference Hall at the Office of the President.
As the Caucus chairperson, Obua urged all members to ensure attendance of the meeting without fail. He said the issues to be discussed concern all of them as the financial year 2022/2023 is concluding.
The communication was forwarded to the President of Uganda, who is also the NRM chairperson. Other copies were forwarded to the Prime Minister, the NRM Secretary General and the Senior Presidential Advisor on Security and defense.
The NRM Parliamentary Caucus is made up of only NRM members of parliament. These meet up to consider and adopt common grounds on parliamentary issues before being tabled for debate in the house. When a common position is agreed upon, members of the caucus have to support that in the house, hence giving a United front.
