Nyege Nyege Festival Gets New Venue, Dates Announced

Nyege Nyege Festival, Africa’s apparent biggest and most adventurous music festival will be making a return on River Nile’s shores. This calls for celebration to many since the festival has gone two years without happening due to the lockdown.

Many have considered this festival as the most anticipated event on Uganda’s annual social calendar. And not, it is scheduled to take place from 15th-18th September 2022 at a new location, Itanda Falls.

During the unveiling of the new dates and venue on Friday, they revealed that the old venue had become too small. Therefore, the event needed change to get a new edge.

“Itanda Falls will be the venue for the next five years,” the co-founder Derek Debru told NBS TV on Friday night.

By far, this will be the the most historic edition after two years of lockdown with a new location and fresh experiences.

It’s also got a massive line up of more than 300 artists from all over the world.

By upgrading to a brand-new site, Nyege Nyege is confident that it will be able to offer revelers a more comfortable and spacious experience. It will also be putting Itanda Falls on the map as one of East Africa’s most fascinating tourism destinations.

They will soon release the artist line up featuring more than 300 performances. The festival will also collaborate with the superficial machine collective to create hybrid digital experiences connecting the festival to the world and satellite events held globally.

Talent Africa CEO, Aly Allibhai further affirms that, “After two years of lockdown, we are super excited to bring back the Nyege Nyege festival. We look forward to creating awesome event experiences at the beautiful new location. This edition will be very special and remembered for a long time.”
