Meet Odhiambo Calvin, A Kenyan Boy Who Transformed Motorcycle Into A Car

Odhiambo Calvin, 24 years of age and a former student of Standard eight in Kericho has amazed villagers after coming up with a serious invention,

Odhiambo who’s a motorbike repairer at KCC now drives himself in a jeep as he called it which he made using a 150cc motorbike engine as well as scrap materials.

The car looks just like a tuk tuk Tricycle, though it’s smaller and four-wheeled.

The residents are still wondering how this young boy managed to assemble and fix everything together to come up with such equipment.

I begun jokingly by collecting scrap materials and started making a car frame, some people thought it would not work out, I continued to build it slowly by slowly for three consecutive months  until I completed it,’’said Odhiambo Calvin.

His failure to join secondary school due to of lack of school fees gave him a chance to join a garage where he was trained as a mechanic and at last, his dream came to pass.

He also managed to fix all indicators in the right position.

Am lacking advanced training and enough money to be able to make something of higher standard,’’he said.

He continued and said that he normally drives it from home to work and no traffic police officer has ever stopped him for a driver’s license or for insurance ever since.

Elsewhere, NEWSLEXPOINT.com previously reported that Arusha-based Ilboru High School’s Form Six student Gracious Ephraim created a solar energy powered human Robot that can walk, turn its head, speak and perform a number of tasks.

Gracious who pursues Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) combination said he started working on the prototype multitasking human robot about 12 months ago.
