“The opposition can never win any other by-election in Uganda. NRM went back to the drawing board, and it is more organized,” said Muwonge on the NBS Eagle.
It should be recalled that Muwonge rose to fame in Kayunga last year in a controversial election. Allegations of voter bribery, ballot stuffing were numerous in the area.
There are about 3 Parliamentary by-elections coming up. There is one for the Soroti City East Constituency, one for Busongora South in Kasese District and another in Gongonyo County in Palisa district.
The nearest is for Soroti East this month. This seat was occupied by FDC candidate Moses Attan Okia who will contest again. He was even endorsed by NUP claiming that they had done it for the greater good of opposition.
However, while appearing on the same show, NRM spokesperson Rogers Mulindwa said that Kyagulanyi seems to have been a student of Mathematics. This is because he knows to calculate and identify where he lacks numbers.
“Kyagulanyi must have been a good mathematics student. He always does the maths. NUP never fronts a candidate where he knows they won’t have a chance to win,” said Mulindwa.
He also added that these elections will be a walkover for the NRM. This is because they have really restrategized themselves very well.
