Suuna almost caused a revolution in the entertainment gossip shows last year. This was after he sued the Sanyuka TV workers and blogger Isma for defaming him.
He accused the quartet of tarnishing his name with a number of allegations. These include branding him a gigolo and a witch.
The “Love Yo” singer who appeared in a TV interview crying over these allegations demanded an apology from Kaiyz and his colleagues. These however hesitated and after serving them with a court summons, an apology was still denied.
Ssuuna moved to sue them and they were jailed for a number of days. They were however later released and the case had been in court. The singer demanded that these prove their allegations but couldn’t.
A number of artists and the public at large were all behind the singer’s move. They said that these gossip mongers in media stations had exceeded the limit in tarnishing their hard-built names.
However, these appeared in court yesterday with Ssuuna all smiling. They revealed that the singer had decided to forgive them and start a new chapter together. Ssuuna also confirmed forgiving them and proceeded to shake hands and exchange hugs with them.
Ssuuna’s stir saw a shift in the gossip shows. Most stations pushed gossip past prime airing time to 10pm. Others didn’t survive this change and never came back on air.
The most renowned Uncut show was moved from NBS TV to the little-known Luganda station, Sanyuka TV. For Livewire on Spark TV, all of its presenters, Gabbie Ntaate and Precious Remmie quit.
