Apparently, she said that appearing number two at the Oscars is a very big achievement. She even pointed out that the NRM also has a documentary known as the 27 Guns.
However, it’s not known as theirs, The People’s President. Therefore, this is a big achievement on their side.
Additionally, the MP also defended her party president, Bobi Wine’s frequent visits abroad. She said that even the likes of Mandela always used to have such foreign trips soliciting for help.
He had to be jailed to tame his growing influence. And this is what Museveni is afraid of on Bobi Wine’s foreign travels.
“Do you know what it means to have a documentary that comes second at the Oscars? They also have a documentary, ’27 Guns,’ but it hasn’t made it anywhere.”
“Mandela used to move across the world mobilizing. And that is part of why he was arrested; to curb his influence. Museveni knows how powerful mobilizing is. Kyagulanyi is meeting influential people on his trips,” she said.
It should be noted that the 27 Guns is a documentary that was locally produced by President Museveni’s daughter, Natasha Museveni.
It got a less than average reception back home. On the other hand, the People’s President has gone international and won several prestigious awards.
However, this submission from the Mukono Municipality MP garnered all kinds of reactions from the public. Many were disappointed that the battle has shifted from leadership and politics to theatrics.
