Pallaso Blames Government For The Decay Of Music Industry

Singer Pallaso has voiced his opinion about the ongoing moral decay, especially in the lyrics released by several singers in the music industry. He apparently believes that it’s the government to blame.

It should be noted that the industry is filled with different songs that have explicit lyrics and videos. However, people seem to have embraced them on a large scale.

The Malamu singer said that however much this is the current trend, it annoys him on one end but he also appreciates it.

According to him, this vulgar music has helped to show what’s really wrong in the country. It shows where most people’s priorities are. He went ahead to dub this type of music, ‘music for the time being.’

Where the government takes the blame

Pallaso also said that the government has failed to implement policies to favor several sectors especially those with talents. They have been neglected and the youths who are the majority in it have no option but to resort to different ways to make ends meet.

Additionally, the singer said that in other countries, they have laws that safeguard and protect those in the arts industry. He gave an example of how most of the artists they started out with are very wealthy as their music has paid off. And this can be attributed to the favorable laws in those countries.

The same can’t be said for Uganda. He used the example of Lil Pazzo who got fame from his Genda Ogulle Emotoka song. People didn’t appreciate him for good songs and that’s why he resorted to the likes of Enkudi to sustain himself.

Besides, the musicians who do such vulgar songs are influenced by nature, nurture, or experiences. Therefore, the government can simply provide better living experiences for them to do good music.

On the other hand, he said that for himself, he does ‘timeless music.’ Whereas people might not appreciate it at the moment, it will always stand the test of time.

Furthermore, the self-styled sucker-free boss said that these songs annoy him because they are detrimental to culture. Uganda is known to be a very cultural country where some words can’t be thrown around. It’s therefore a pity that they are being tolerated now.
