Based on the parliament’s curriculum, the sitting will kick off today (Tuesday, December 13) at 2:00pm and will see legislators start off with prayers. After that, communication from the chair will follow before moving the resolution of parliament to pay tribute to the late Aweri.
Arrangements have it that the Prime Minister or Government Chief Whip will pass the first motion. Therefore, this will be seconded by the leader of opposition.
Yesterday, the body of Justice Aweri arrived at the Judiciary Headquarters (Highcourt) where his colleagues and lawyers honored him.
At the time of his demise last week, the 69-year-old Judge was also the chief inspector of courts. The Justice succumbed to a stroke at Mulago National Referral Hospital.
He will be laid to rest in Dokolo district on on Friday, December 16. Yesterday, flags were flown at half-mast nationwide to mourn Justice Aweri’s demise. This will last 5 days until Friday when he is laid to rest.
