Many people have come out to air their opinions about this. One of them is pastor Solomon Male who said Bugingo did nothing wrong. According to the Arising for Christ Church lead pastor, the law fully protects Bugingo.
Male added that there are two types of marriages, biblical and secular. Bugingo opted to be a secular man and deviated from the word of God a long time ago.
Male added that Bugingo’s actions don’t surprise him after he burnt Bibles a few years ago.
The veteran pastor also advised Bugingo’s wife Teddy Naluswa to accept reality and sign the divorce papers.
“There is nothing wrong with what Bugingo did. He’s completely protected by Ugandan law and I think Teddy should accept to sign the divorce papers and move on. People usually confuse the two types of marriages which are biblical and the secular marriage brought by the Roman empire. In the biblical marriage, when you marry someone, there are no conditions, or a priest or being given certificates unlike the secular marriage. It’s only until death do you part and there is no room for divorce. Bugingo deviated from the word of God a long time ago. That’s why he was burning Bible’s because they criticise his shameful actions. He’s only left to milk money from his flock and lie to them on the pulpit,” pastor Male said.
He added that the six months given to Teddy and Bugingo to iron out their issues by Court elapsed. Teddy should therefore just count her losses and move on according to Pastor Male.
Teddy however revealed that she still knows herself as Bugingo’s lawful wife and won’t sign any divorce papers. She maintains that in her born-again faith, they do not allow divorce and she’s not ready to break her sacred vows.
Bugingo and Susan’s introduction is however slated for next week.
