Makerere Community Church’s Pastor Martin Ssempa has claimed that he survived the assassination over the weekend. It should be noted that the vocal and controversial Pastor some time ago revealed that unknown people were trailing him.
He said that his life was in danger and requested for prayers and security.
Additionally, the Pastor said that he was going to take some time away from the public eye to hide in a bunker he had built himself. The Pastor says that he left his home in Kasanje to do some construction work.
He was then waylaid by 6 men in two cars and he narrowly survived death. The Pastor thinks that it’s either the military who are working with land grabbers to eliminate him. Or it’s the perverts.
It should be recalled that the Pastor is one of the vehement critics and opposes the legalization of homosexuality in Uganda. This has severely landed him in trouble with those who are in support of it.
Ssempa meanwhile said that he went to the Police and was given two escorts. As well as requesting the Police not to give these thugs another chance. He also asked for prayers from his followers.
Read his statement below;
“Guys I survived two attempted assassinations today. I left my hideout bunker and did some critical road construction work at my home in Jungo Kasanje today. Was twice waylaid by two cars with 6 guys in them. I narrowly survived death today. I suspect that It’s either military-related land grabbers or Perverts. Had to go to the police and get two escorts to get me to the highway. And I really need security. Meanwhile, I bought a bottle of red wine to celebrate my providential escape.”
