Taking to his X page, Ssempa posted two photos of him. In one he was wearing bark cloth while he wore a leopard’s skin in another. He said that if he preached in such wear, he would be dubbed a witch doctor.
However, if he spreads the word of God wearing European clothes, he would be called a true pastor. This, therefore, shows that if it was Africans who spread the Gospel to the whites, they would be preaching in African clothes. They wouldn’t be wearing ties and robes.
He also said Jesus was neither a European nor a white man. Pastor Martin Ssempa went ahead to write that Jesus Christ was a descendant of Abraham from Ur in Mesopotamia. This is present-day Iraq.
Additionally, the controversial and motor-mouthed pastor said that it’s time for Africans to take the true gospel to Europe.
It’s not only Europe where the word will be spread but the entire globe as the time is ripe. Plus there must be a bid to decolonize to evangelize.
“When I preach the gospel in my leopard skin and bark cloth, they say I am a witch doctor. But when I preach the same in European robes they say I am a true pastor. If Africans are the ones who took the gospel to Europe the white men would be dressing in Leopard skins and bark cloth in the pulpits instead of ties, and robes.”
“Jesus was neither European nor a white. The son of God was a descendant of Abraham who came from Ur in Mesopotamia. The time for Africans to take the true gospel to Europe and the rest of the world has come. We must #decolonize and #evangelize.”
