Comedian Patrick Salvado Idringi has slammed local media station Galaxy FM for undermining local gospel singer Gabbie Ntaate’s concert. It should be noted that Ntaate had her Cheeza for Yesu concert over the weekend at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel.
The concert pulled a full house but the Kansanga-based media house posted photos of empty seats.
These were probably not yet filled by the time these photos were taken. The media house then posted a caption that revelers had decided to ‘cheza’ from home.
This post apparently did not sit well with many people and they slammed the media house. Among them was Salvado who wondered what they gain from spreading negativity. The comedian wondered if the media station at its level is still looking for social media likes.
“Dear @GalaxyFMUg, as a leading media house as you claim, supporting local music as you claim, I think we need to do better … At this stage I don’t think you should still do things for likes .. You are bigger than that but I guess it’s a mindset thing .. Small minds with huge responsibilities end up with such narratives. I’m sure you know the truth but your pride Can’t let you post it … what a shame. And then the comments that follow the post show the type of people you serve.. Class attracts class and bad mind attracts bad mind. Kale muswaza… it’s a shame. Congratulations Gabbi Ntate on your concert .. it was truly heavenly.”
Salvado wasn’t the only person to show his dissatisfaction with the Kansanga-based media house. Other social media users did too and accused the media station of mudslinging people’s concerts when they choose not to work with it.
