A test from the samples taken from the players in the Juventus game with Udinese in August found him positive for testosterone. He had enhanced levels of testosterone.
Consequently, the footballer will stand trial against the National Anti-Doping Tribunal.
Juventus released a statement about the matter saying, “Juventus Football Club announces that today, 11 September 2023, the footballer Paul Labile Pogba received a precautionary suspension order from the National Anti-Doping Tribunal following the results of tests carried out on 20 August, 2023. The club reserves the right to consider the next procedural steps.”
The former Manchester United midfielder has about three days to produce a counter-analysis of the sample to the Tribunal. Failure to do so might see him get a ban from all football-related activities for a period of 2-4 years.
His agent denied any wrongdoing from his player as he said that “We’re waiting for the counter-analysis and we can’t say anything now.” “For sure, Pogba never wanted to bend the rules — I can guarantee that.”
Pogba has endured one of the worst spells of his career. Ever since his return to Turin, injuries have plagued his career.
He managed just 108 minutes across the entire 2022-2023 campaign. The World Cup winner also revealed that he at one time explored quitting football because of family issues involving voodoo and blackmail.
