People Putting Politics In Music Are Spoiling Our Industry – Eddy Kenzo

Internationally famed singer, BET Award winner, and Grammy nominee, Eddy Kenzo real name Edirisa Musuuza, has shown his hate for people that bring politics into the music industry.

Kenzo started singing at a young age after losing his parents and living on Kampala streets. However,  he was not like any other street kid that misbehave, he used the streets to learn a lot about life and work hard to be a better person.

Fortunately enough, he got a chance to hit the studio and start singing. He was even luckier that when he did his songs, they crossed borders, especially the ‘Sitya Loss’ that put him on the map.

He says music is his life, relatives and everything because when everyone had abandoned him, it stood by his side. It has also given him everything he has like money and property.

In this generation, a lot has changed and Uganda’s music industry is full of politics. With Bobi Wine who joined, fans always think every artiste has to support him. This is yet some artists have their own opinions of supporting other political parties.

According to Eddy Kenzo, meeting politicians doesn’t mean someone is into politics. He said he sometimes meets politicians to perform and get money just.

He also said he doesn’t like when people politicize music because it doesn’t work that way.

“People putting politics in music are spoiling our industry. People should know that meeting politicians doesn’t mean we are in politics. Some of us go there to just get money,” Eddy Kenzo said.
