The State Minister of Energy Phiona Nyamutoro has called out the national publication, New Vision for what she termed as unprofessional journalism. This was in regard to a story the newspaper ran about her relationship with singer Eddy Kenzo.
It should be noted that the couple formalized their relationship a few days ago. For the past couple of months, they have been a mainstay in the headlines. Speaking to a local TV station last week, the singer said that he has known the Minister for a while when she was 26 years old.
This means that they have known each other since 2013. Apparently, this is the year that Eddy Kenzo and Rema made their relationship public and started living together.
At this time, the Minister was only getting to University where she would go ahead to become the vice guild president at Makerere University.
As per the New Vision article, they gave an indication that it seems the singer despite being with Rema formally, was having a secret relationship with the Minister.
This did not sit down well and she took to X to address it. She called New Vision’s CEO Don Wanyama saying that it’s horrible for the national newspaper to behave like a blog. Additionally, the Minister said that the company’s newspaper should do better.
“Dear New Vision @nyamadon, this is a national paper that should publish authentic news!!! It’s horrible to see you degrade your credibility to blog status stories!!! Your journalists can definitely do better @newvisionwire,” Phiona Nyamutoro wrote.
