The State Minister of Energy Hon Phiona Nyamutoro has revealed how the singer and her current husband Eddy Kenzo offensively proposed to her. The Youth legislator said that the first time they met was entirely for business.
They had been talking for quite some time and she had declined to meet him but finally gave in. When they met, she expected to see a short man but was surprised by his height as he was very tall. They talked purely about business.
The Minister said that prior to their meeting, she didn’t know that he was even that famous. She only knew a couple of songs of his that she had been playing in her workspaces.
However, what struck her was his outlook on life. She wondered how someone who had grown up under such tough circumstances had such a perspective on life.
Nyamutoro added that the next time they met was when the Semyekozo singer popped the question. Still, they had met to follow up on their business ideas discussed earlier.
However, he ended up proposing to her. She said that she had to look around to make sure he wasn’t speaking to someone else. Right there and then, she turned him down because there is no way she had fathomed marrying a musician.
Read her recollection below;
“The very first time I met Eddy was for a business meeting and I expected a short guy. However, when he entered the room, I was surprised at how tall he was. I didn’t even know he was so famous. I just knew a few of his songs. What struck me most about him was his view on life despite the tough situations he grew in. The second time we met to finalize business, he proposed to me in an offensive way. I had to look around to make sure he was speaking to me. Me and a musician getting married, I turned him down right away.”
