Police Investigate Brutal Murder Of Lyantonde Businesswoman

Police in Lyantonde are investigating the murder of a prominent businesswoman at Kaliro Ward B in Lyantonde Town Council. The district CID Officer Mr. Robert Asendu on Monday identified the deceased as Hope Tukamushaba.

They found her body lying in a pool of blood at her home on Sunday.

“We have embarked on the investigation process. Nobody has been arrested but the police investigation team is on ground,” he said briefly.

The deceased operated a bar and a shop at Kaliro ward B in Lyantonde town. Apparently, her sister discovered Hope’s body when she went to check on her after Hope failed to respond to phone calls.

According to the LC1 Kaliro B, Mr. Muhamad Ssekimpi, the incident is likely to have happened in the night.

“We found blood drops at the washrooms, a possibility that the suspected killers could have washed their hands after accomplishing their mission,” he said

However, a section of the civilians claimed that the police is thinly spread. This is as a result of the small numbers at the Central Police.

They further claimed that the crime rate in the area is on the rise for the same reason.

Police later took Tukamushaba’s body to Lyantonde Hospital mortuary for postmortem as investigations continued.
