Police Officer Shot Two Dead In A Fight Over A Women

Police in Mubende has arrested a police constable who shot two people dead and injured three allegedly in a fight over a woman at a local bar.One of the dead is a UPDF officer.

Police searched the scene of the shooting at Busega Pub where Sam Mutungi, a police constable attached to Bukuya sub-county in Mubende district shot two revelers dead and injured three others

Mutungi allegedly developed a misunderstanding with other people at the local bar after he developed an interest in a woman already attached to someone else at the bar.

According to eyewitnesses, Mutungi sneaked out of the bar to his home and returned shortly holding a gun and dressed in a police uniform.He then opened fire at people in the bar

The Authority has identified the dead as Kawagga Nectaria a resident of Bukuya and a UPDF soldier Yafesi Balode deployed in Lukwango camp in Kitumbu Sub-county.

One of the injured Emmanuel Kusiima – a boda-boda rider and a resident of Kamusenene is currently admitted at Mityana Regional Referral Hospital

Two others who sustained injuries have been discharged from Kasanda Health Centre IV.

The bodies of the deceased have been taken to the same Health Centre for a postmortem.

Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima confirmed that Mutungi who fled the after the shooting is currently under arrest.

He was found hiding in Bukuya Sub-county.
