Police deputy spokesperson in Kampala Metropolitan, Patrick Onyango has revealed that singer Gravity Omutujju was arrested because he was moving with a gang of thieves.
The Okwepicha singer was arrested in the city center yesterday as he was on a drive-through promoting his upcoming concert.
According to Onyango, Gravity did not have clearance from the Police. Besides, most of the people he was moving with were phone snatchers. Therefore, arresting him was only a favor to him to protect his name.
“We arrested Gravity because he was moving in the city without Police clearance. He had a lot of thugs who were snatching people’s phones. Therefore, arresting him was only doing him a favor so that people don’t say that Gravity’s crew is full of thieves,” Onyango said.
Apparently, the singer was later released. He then bragged that no other singer will get people to fill up Lugogo Cricket Oval like him.
Furthermore, he said that he came to town with just ten people. And they were taking his flyers to pin them somewhere. When people saw him, they joined in because he’s such a big musician.
Additionally, the rapper said that he had told someone to get him Police clearance but it seems they hesitated and didn’t get it in time.
Furthermore, the singer asked how the Police can arrest him in his own country simply because of walking on foot.
It should be noted that his concert dubbed ‘Embaga Ya Isima Na Amina’ will take place on the 7th of next month.
This is the same date Mikie Wine has his concert at Jahazi Pier, Munyonyo. Owing to the fracas that has happened between Bobi Wine, Mikie Wine’s older brother and Gravity Omutujju, these two concerts will be sort of like a point to prove.
