In a meeting held at the University, Police revealed that they have already received information about the planned disruption.
Apparently, the court ruling did not satisfy most Kyambogo students hence their need to disrupt the ceremony.
On Friday last week, the High Court in Kampala dismissed an application filed on September 14, 2021 by 45 students.
They sought to halt the graduation ceremony fixed for September 21 to 23 due to their names missing on the graduation list.
The Chief Security Officer at Kyambogo University, Mission Samuel, said preparations by security are in high gear. He further said they are ready to handle whoever will try to disrupt the ceremony.
The Vice Chancellor of Kyambogo University, Prof. Eli Katunguka, said some politicians are supporting these group of students.
Without mentioning names, he said these politicians use students who failed to fulfill the university requirements for them to be on the graduation list.
‘’These are students who failed exams and most of them had retakes, so they fear what they will tell their parents and guardians because they will not graduate with the rest. Such students should abort their plans of disrupting us because we have prepared for them,’’ Katunguka said.
