He said this while delivering his address during the parliamentary voting of the speaker and deputy speaker that happened yesterday.
Museveni added that he has always been and will always be open to dialogue with anyone that differs from his ideology.
“I am ready to engage the opposition. I talk very well with UPC and DP. Recently, I also talk to a few FDC members. The people who have refused to dialogue are those of NUP.” The president said.
It should be recalled that parties such as FDC and NUP declined to attend the IPOD meeting this year. Their reason was that they cannot dialogue with someone who stole their vote.
President Museveni also went ahead to express his delight at the fact that the party official flag bearer won the race for parliament speaker.
“I thank the people who were initially supporting Kadaga and later changed back to the party position. There was a very strong Oulanyah faction and another strong Kadaga faction.” Museveni added.
Yesterday evening, parliament declared Jacob Oulanyah the speaker of the 11th parliament after beating Kadaga. Hon. Anita Among will deputize him.
