Communities around Kapeeka Industrial Park have been rallied by President Museveni to make the most of the chances it provides to market their goods and increase household incomes.
The president spoke at Namunkekera Agro Processing Limited in Kapeeka, Nakaseke District. This was during the commencement of a two-day trade show.
He conveyed his appreciation to Gen. Salim Saleh for his brilliant insight in locating property for investment. This apparently resulted in the creation of the industrial park.
He also expressed gratitude to the investors who heeded his invitation to invest in Uganda, acknowledging their important contribution to the economic development of the nation.
Farmers asked for financial support during the event, totaling shs 4.4 billion, for their SACCO. This is in order to boost production capacity. In addition, President Museveni spoke about land problems.
He promised veterans that no one would be forced from their land and promised to meet with General Salim Saleh to find a solution.
The Vice President, Jessica Alupo, expressed gratitude to Kapeeka Industrial Park for fostering trade prospects and supporting Uganda’s attempts to replace imports.
She commended Gen. Salim Saleh for his patriotic attitude in carrying out the President’s vision for the industrial park. She also appreciated the investors’ role in bringing about economic transformation.
President Museveni’s leadership, according to Evelyn Anite, the Minister of State for Investment and Privatization, is responsible for Uganda’s prosperous economic trajectory. She asked Ugandans to support the Buy Uganda, Build Uganda (BUBU) campaign.
She emphasized that Kapeeka Industrial Park has over 15,000 workers at the moment, greatly lowering the unemployment rate.
