No Body Is Allowed To Evict Bibanja Holders – President Museveni Warns

President Museveni officiated at the groundbreaking for Kabusu-Bunamwaya-Lweza road, it’s one of the 96 roads that we are going to tarmac in Kampala.

When the NRM came, we found a fainted nation and we resuscitated Uganda and started minimum recovery. Now we have commenced on infrastructural development, and my hope is that our wanainchi get wealth and jobs from this development,’he said.

However, president Museveni said we need to utilise our funds better, some MPs want to increase their salaries and travel, yet we can use that money to put in citizens’ Saccos. Please tell your MP to support us deal with the crucial things instead of their personal development.

I addressed a rally at Bembe-Nansiti, Namayumba county in Wakiso district.

President Museveni also thanked the people of Namayumba for your continued support towards NRM and contribution towards the NRA bush war that led to the liberation of this country.

I understand that land evictions of Bibanja holders are a big issue here, but no one is allowed to evict them according to the NRM resolutions.

There are 4 categories of bibanja legal owners; I) those who occupied the land before 1983, ii) those who owned land from 1983 to 1995, iii) those who inherited the bibanja from there family and iv) those who bought the land. I promise to come back to discuss more on this issue,’he said.

About coffee, I have heard some people telling lies about coffee certificates. We are only registering coffee growers for purposes of traceability of our product on the international market,’said Museveni.

The farmers will also benefit from training, empowerment, and monitoring for good quality coffee so that we are able to compete favorably on the world market,’he added.
