President Museveni To Campaign For Oulanyah’s Son Today In Omoro County

The NRM Chairman, President Yoweri Museveni is expected in Omoro County today to show support for Andrew Ojok Oulanyah. Andrew Ojok, the son to late Speaker Jacob Oulanyah bears the NRM flag on Omoro.

The program has it that the president will address two meetings at Opit Senior Secondary School playground in Omoro town council.

While there, he will meet party leaders from areas of Lakwana, Lakwaya, Akidi and Omoro Town Council. They also organized another rally in Odek Sub-county and here, he will address leaders from Orapwoyo, Odek, Acet Town council and Lagoli sub-county.

The president will also pay a courtesy visit to Mzee Nathan Okori. From there, the president will also commiserate with the family and lay a wreath on the deceased former speaker’s grave.

On Tuesday, Ojok received blessing from his grandfather  at his home in Lalogi village. And on May 26, Omoro will go into polls to elect their next Membee of Parliament.

The death of the former Speaker Jacob Oulanyah in March 2022 left this position vacant.

Furthermore, the race to replace Oulanyah has attracted six candidates. Thes me are; NRM’s Andrew Ojok Oulanyah, FDC’s Justine Odong Obiya, National Unity Platform’s Simon Toolit Akecha, ANT’s Oscar Kiiza and Jimmy Walter Onen and Terrence Odonga both of whom are independents.
