The president gave the directive through a statement that the presidential press unit issued on Thursday.
On Wednesday, prior to the directive, the president met with local leaders from Acholi. They were led by the Gulu Resident City Commissioner, Janefrancis Amongin.
The president apparently had met with them to follow up on the complaints raised during his February tour of the region.
Those in attendance at the meeting included LC chairpersons, councilors and other beneficiaries. Also in attendance happened to be the State House Anti-corruption Unit head, Henry Isoke.
According to the beneficiaries, leaders especially civil servants condition them to pay abnormal amounts of money before accessing the PDM funds.
Apparently, communities were called to the sub-county instead of the parish level to process the groups. This exercise would cost them up to shs 10,000.
This happened in the Wunyama and Wakyi Sub-counties in Gulu district. The president has asked Brig Isoke to follow up on this matter and bring the culprits to justice.
