In his weekly report on Monday, president Ramaphosa said that lifting of the pandemic lockdown countrywide should not cause carelessness in behavior, estimating that the possibility of infection will increase.
‘We should expect coronavirus infections to increase as people resume work. It’s better to accept the actuality, just be prepared and adapt to it,’said Ramaphosa.
He further said that the demand on hospitals, clinics and healthcare workers will grow.
We should, therefore get prepared to continue living with covid-19 amongst us for period of a year or even longer. We should by all means get prepared for this hard truth in which fighting against the spread of the deadly virus becomes part of our daily activities, ‘he said.
I therefore appeal to everybody that since we changed our behavior in fighting the spread of HIV/AIDS, we must in the same way change our behavior in fighting against the spread of covid-19,’he added.
Minister of Health in South Africa Mkhize Zweli on Monday made an announcement that the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the republic of South Africa is 10,015 and the total number of deaths stands at 194, according to News24.
