Local events promoter Nobat has revealed that his request to ban TikTok in Uganda was shunned by the government as soon as he brought it up. It should be noted that the promoter a few weeks ago petitioned the government to ban TikTok in the country.
Nobat who has a personal vendetta against singer Alien Skin argued that the platform had given the Fangon boss excessive powers. And he was no longer untamable as he had grown unruly.
However, the promoter was informed that his idea was not welcome. This is because the government gets a lot of taxes from this platform.
“I am an advocate for the prohibition of TikTok, but when I proposed the concept to certain government officials, their responses were varied. The majority said that the government gets a lot of tax from Tiktok usage so it’s hard to enforce the ban,” said Nobat Events.
Promoter Nobat meanwhile last week got involved in a physical altercation with the Sitya Danger singer. Although a video clip of this brawl doesn’t show much, Nobat wears a hard collar neck nowadays.
He claims that the video only captured just part of their clash. However, a lot had already gone by and this assault resulted into physical damage to him.
