Ragga Dee started doing music 20 years ago as he is one of the pioneers of advanced music followed by the likes of Jose Chameleon, Bebe Cool, and Bobi Wine.
In the time when he was doing music, the competition wasn’t as much as it is at the moment.
In the current years, with more advanced technology, social media, and more talented people in the music industry, the competition is stiffer. It is also not only in Uganda but the whole world over and everyone would like to be on top.
As a father and knowing everything that comes with joining the entertainment industry in Uganda, Ragga Dee feels it is not the right time for his daughter to start singing.
His daughter, known as Shivon Dee, started singing last year and her father has been supporting her. However, he decided to pause everything concerning singing.
According to Ragga Dee, he is not comfortable seeing his daughter singing before finishing school yet she just joined university.
According to Ragga Dee, singing and performing are full of temptations and there is money involved. So, when his daughter touches money, she might fail to school yet education is very important in his household.
“I didn’t refuse my daughter from singing like the way people have been seeing. I just paused her. I know everything in the music industry and there are somethings I don’t want my daughter to go through. She just joined university, I want her to concentrate on that first. I want her to be a musician but at least not now,” he said.
