Veteran singer Daniel Kazibwe alias Ragga Dee has said that very soon they are going to ask for the help of the Uganda Communications Commission in the regulation of music that hits the Ugandan airwaves from Ugandan singers.
The singer said that musicians nowadays sing a lot of perverted songs.
Most of this music is X-rated and is not fit for different age categories. According to Ragga Dee, he knows about 10 songs by Ugandan musicians which are all perverted. Shockingly, most Ugandans love them. But one can’t listen to them with their children.
He gave himself as an example of the type of songs he used to do. He can do them anywhere at any time. The same can’t be said about these current singers.
They are also ashamed to sing the type of songs they release to the public. Therefore, Ragga Dee thinks DJs need to be issued with licenses.
If they play these mediocre perverted songs, their licenses should be revoked. For the musicians, they will need to be sensitized before any further steps can be taken.
Read his statement below;
“Musicians nowadays sing a lot of perverted songs. You can’t listen to their music with your kids or your parents. I know about 10 X-rated songs by Ugandans that are so dirty but Ugandans enjoy them. I think we need to issue licenses to DJs who play such music. If they do not adhere to the rules, we take away the licenses. UCC needs to also come in and ban these songs because of misinformation,” Ragga Dee, a board member of the Uganda National Cultural Commission said in an interview.
