Rahmah Pinky Narrates How She Drank Alcohol And Passed Out On Her Kwanjula Day

It’s no secret that former Team No Sleep singer Rahmah Pinky was forced into marriage at the age of 17. She has now revealed that she drank a lot of alcohol on the eve of her Kwanjula and passed out.

During an interview with Sanyuka TV, Pinky said that her mother took her to talent manager, Francis to promote her. While there, a certain man approached them and proposed to manage Pinky’s career. He promised to do a lot of things for her including flying her abroad.

This tempted Rahmah Pinky’s mother as she thought that her daughter might get an opportunity to study abroad. She therefore sanctioned the marriage although Pinky didn’t approve it.

On the eve of the Kwanjula, the teenager drowned herself in a binge of booze. She lost her consciousness and woke up in hospital the following day on drip.

The Tontankuula singer did all this since she didn’t want to get married to the man but it didn’t save her. Everything to get her prepared for the ceremony including makeup was done from the hospital bed.

Apparently she decided to stay calm and go through with the Kwanjula ceremony.

However, as soon as she got her ‘amahare‘ she fled into oblivion for about 2 months.

“My mother took me to manager Francis and a man came and said that he will be my manager. He also said that he would fly me out and he proposed to marry me for things to be quick. I rejected but my mother thought getting married to him would grant me an opportunity to study from abroad.”

She would later get signed to TNS for about 2 years where she slowly made a name for herself. However, indiscipline cost her a place in the label as Jeff fired her from the label a few months ago.
