Speaking at City Mortuary, where the Opposition was retrieving the bodies of some NASA supporters killed during street demonstrations, Mr Raila implored the Government to compensate families that lost their loved ones through ‘police brutality’.

The former Prime Minister blamed the police for the deaths witnessed in the country since August noting that the security men used excessive force against their supporters.

Police Killings

He added that it was heartbreaking the Government had not even once apologised over the police killings.

“The Government needs to apologise not only to the parent of this young boy but also the relatives of o who have been killed from August up to now. The government must compensate for the loss of lives during this electioneering session,” he said.

Mr Odinga highlighted the shooting of Geoffrey Mutinda, a seven-year-old boy allegedly shot dead by police officers in Pipeline area, Nairobi County.

The NASA chief raila odinga criticized the International Community for not questioning the Government over the 215 deaths witnessed since August but instead called on him to stop his swearing-in and follow the constitution.

In his response, he said Constitution my foot adding that Kenya will welcome suggestions from other countries but solve problems on its own.

“215 people have been killed and no one is talking about it yet they have the audacity to tell us forget and move on. Kenyan problems will be resolved by Kenyans. Our friends can give us advise in private. Don’t come and shout at us,” he said.

He was joined by the families of the victims and other NASA leaders in mourning.
