Real Madrid Manager Carlo Ancelotti Tips Vini Jr. To Win The Ballon d’Or

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has tipped the club’s forward to win this year’s Ballon d’Or. The Los Blancos overcame a 2-0 deficit to defeat Borussia Dortmund 5-2 in their Champions League MD3 league phase match.

With a 30-minute hat-trick at the Santiago Bernabeu, Vinicius Junior was the highlight of the show for the defending champions.

After the full-time whistle, Carlo Ancelotti shared his thoughts on the game and explained how his team managed to rally in the second half.

“After the break, we changed the system and the team was more intense. In the first half, we were more timid and it was quite clear what we had to do. The team did very well by putting in more intensity. It was the best second half of the season.”

Ancelotti also thinks that Real Madrid’s season, which has been difficult thus far, might change course with the performance in the second half.

“We have to learn from everything that happened in the match. The second half has taught us a lot and can be a key moment of our season.”

Regarding Vinicius, Ancelotti was gushing over the player, saying he anticipates receiving the 2024 Ballon d’Or next week.

“What I can say about Vinicius is that it’s rare for him to do a second half like he did. He has had extraordinary energy and character. He is going to win the Ballon d’Or for what he did last year, not for tonight. This will already serve him for the next Ballon d’Or.”

The Ballon d’Or ceremony will take place at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris on Monday. This award aims at rewarding the best player in a football season.

The competition is between Vini, his Madrid teammate Jude Bellingham and Spanish midfielder Rodri.
