This has now translated into him defaulting on the current house he’s living in. A few days ago, a certain woman came out in the news to claim that the singer had failed to clear his rental arrears.
According to this woman, Red Banton first defaulted 8 months which they excused him from paying. The house that he lived in cost a whooping 750,000 shillings per month.
They decided to partition this house so that the price reduces. This indeed reduced down to 400,000 shillings but he’s still failed to clear rent for 2 months now.
Red Banton however saw this unfortunate incident turn into a blessing in disguise for him. This is after some well-wishers from abroad sent him the money to clear these arrears.
After getting the money, the singer tore into this lady who came out to embarrass him on TV. He said that he doesn’t know her and besides she’s mad.
“Sometimes you do something thinking that you are going to victimize someone but you end up giving them blessings. Well-wishers sent me the money to clear the rental arrears but I actually don’t know that woman who appeared in the news embarrassing me. The people for who I pay the rent are different from the one who was interviewed. In fact, that woman is mad but I want to pay her so that she renovates herself because she looks awful,” Red Banton said
Music seems to have divorced the singer as it’s been ages since he last released a song. In fact, it’s very difficult to convince kids of today that he was the star of the early 2000s. An almost equivalent of Eddy Kenzo today in terms of marketability.
Red Banton had hit songs such as Pony Tail, Balogo, Speed among others and of course not forgetting his songs for WBS TV.
These were like the TV’s anthems. It’s however a pity that he now currently lives a beggar’s life and seems to survive on handouts.
