So many boda bodas were confiscated leaving many people jobless. However, the president, says by now these people have learned their lesson. So, they should get their bodas back.
“Some many motorcycles at police stations were confiscated for violating curfew. However, as people of religion, sometimes it is good to forgive. These young people have already been punished since they have not been earning after being impounded. I direct you to release these motorcycles. I direct you to release them. Let us have an amnesty for these boda boda people,” Museveni said.
However, the president has on several occasions warned boda bodas to adhere to SOPs. Their time of work runs from 6:00am to 6:00pm but most of them never actually do as told.
You find most of them still on the road even at 11:00pm in the night. This just means they never leave the police any choice but to confiscate their motorcycles.
Meanwhile, even the police on the other hand, never really do as directed by the president. Some boda bodas up to now since the first lockdown have never gotten their bodas despite president forgiving them.
The president should have some people to follow up on his orders to see that they are fulfilled to the dot. Otherwise it doesn’t paint a good picture of him at all.
